For violinist Leung Kin-fung, Brahms has always been a favourite composer. He has celebrated this by recording, with accompanist Nancy Loo, all Brahms’ Hungarian Dances. Leung Kin Fung was the first Hong Kong musician to win the first prize at the "1992 Young Artist Competition" in New York while studying there on full scholarship at the Juilliard School as the winner of the "Irving Ruckens Award". He also had previously won a significant award for his virtuosity on the viola, the second prize at "The 19th William Primrose International Viola Competition" in 1991. Other awards included the "Mary Owen Borden Memorial Foundation Award" in 1990, the "Grand Prize of the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival" and the "Hong Kong Commercial Radio Prize" in 1986. Leung Kin Fung was the awardee of the "Ten Outstanding Young Persons" in Hong Kong in 2002. Nancy Loo is one of Hong Kong's most versatile artists, as pianist, radio programme host, actress and writer. She was a recipient of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award in 1978. She currently teaches piano at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and The Chinese University of Hong Kong and is often invited to host music talks and master-classes, and to serve as a juror for piano competitions.

The Hungarian Dances by Johannes Brahms, are a set of 21 lively dance tunes based mostly on Hungarian themes. They vary from about a minute to four minutes in length. They are among Brahms' most popular works, and were certainly the most profitable for him. Each dance has been arranged for a wide variety of instruments and ensembles. Brahms originally wrote the version for piano four-hands and later arranged the first 10 dances for solo piano. The most famous Hungarian Dance is No. 5 in F Sharp minor (G minor in the orchestral version).
