Oh Seung Kook

Seung Kook Oh (1957~) is a top classical guitarist from Korea. He was introduced to the guitar at the age of eleven, studying abroad in Spain in 1982, where he studied the classical guitar at the Real Conservatorio de Madrid (Royal Conservatory of Madrid) under Professor Eugenio Gonzalo. He also earned a diploma from the David Russell Guitar Course. After graduation, he received the Gran Premio (grand prize) in the Spanish Guitar Contest and won a prize at the Segovia Contest. His recording of the Violin Sonata E Minor by Paganini was used as the musical theme for the TV drama “The Hourglass.” He also played crossover music in various concerts. Seung Kook Oh has devoted himself to spreading guitar music throughout Korea by hosting classical guitar lessons on the Educational Broadcasting System (EBS-TV) program Rainbow Guitar.
